1. Start off with a casual "Hello", "Hi", "How are you?" or "Hey (name)!" (below in the chart) 2. Begin by saying you haven't spoken in a while and ask them questions about their lives like "How's your family?" or "What's new in school or work?" (introduction phrases). 3. Update them on what's been going on in your life lately. Pictures are always a great addition. Optionally, you could also discuss current events. 4. Let them know what has been going on with common acquaintances. 5.Write a conclusion (see the chart). 6. Close with a "See you soon" or "Love from" (other examples - in the chart below). 7. Read your e-mail, check all the spaces and SEND! 8. Wait for the answer!!! Try to answer all the questions in your friend’s e-mail.Be polite!If you don’t understand something in the letter – ask your friend about it.Show your interest – ask questions! |
