Types of Houses in Bolshaya Sosnova

If you come to Bolshaya Sosnova,you can live in: detached houses,semi-detached houses, cottages and blocks of flats.

 

A detached house 

It stands on its own and it is a house for 1 family. It is usually a brick or a log house. There is a front garden and a kitchen garden around the house. It has 4-5 rooms: a kitchen, a living room, a bedroom. In some houses there is a bathroom. Few detached houses in our village have 2 floors. Some houses don’t have modern conveniences and people have to bring water from the well. It is heated by central heating or has gas or electric fires. The windows have two layers of glass. In detached house people usually use a lot of electricity. We think that people have to reduce using electricity. People can make thicker insulation in walls and on the attic.

A semi – detached house

A semi – detached house is a house where two detached houses are joined together. It is usually a brick or a log house. There are front gardens and two kitchen gardens around the house. Each flat has 3-5 rooms: a kitchen, a living room, some bedrooms and some people have a bathroom in their flats. Semi-detached houses often have gas or electric fires. Some people heat houses by electric fires. Most houses are heated by firewood.The windows have two layers of glass. In some houses the windows have one layer in summer and two in winter, spring and autumn. In semi-detached houses people usually use a medium amount of electricity.

A multi-storey house

There are some multi-storey houses in our village. They usually have 2 or 3 floors without any lift. The house has some flats. The flats in multi-storey houses can have 1, 2 or 3 rooms and a bathroom. Some flats have balconies. There are some flower-beds and playgrounds in front of them. The flats are heated by central heating. People in flats usually use a medium amount of electricity.

This house stands on its own in the countryside far from other houses. It is usually a brick house. There is a front garden and a kitchen garden around the house.A cottage often has two floors. It has 4-7 rooms: a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, a hall and some bedrooms. The house is heated by electric fires. It uses a lot of electricity. People have to make thicker insulation in walls and on the attic.
